Like, for example, like regarding my mom, she was an immigrant and it was really hard for her because she didn't have papers. So she was an immigrant and she struggled a lot. And it was kind of hard that I actually had something that she will probably want it because she didn't ever got to see her mom. So I kind of see it like that. I was kind of like, you know, lucky. But at the same time, it was unfortunate that my mom didn't have papers and she's strong all her life through 25 years here in United States where there's like, a lot of discrimination towards immigrants. Mm hmm. So that's how I see it, as kind of like a discrimination toward immigrants when they come from another place. A place and they come over here to work and to find something that actually you want, like something like a citizenship to go and see their parents or see their family from where they are. Like my mom, though, she never she was here for 26 years and she never got to see her mom again. Mm hmm. Something like that. That's how I see it.
text/plain
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=6.0,88.17
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/3
Speaker 1: Okay, so citizenship in many parts to you and means being able to leave and freely come back.
text/plain
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=88.96,94.29
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/4
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=94.68,94.68
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/5
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=95.16,95.64
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/6
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=96.09,96.09
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/7
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674#t=96.63,100.23
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56847/file/207674/transcript/49547/annotation/8
Speaker 2: Probably when I was like 15 or 16.
