That's where they were born. And they really didn't have very high expectations in the sense that like pursuing education or anything like that, they were just pretty much they just had to work to support themselves and support any children that they had. So that's pretty much what they were expected to do, to have a family, raise a family and work and just take care of themselves. The expectations my parents had for myself was one that I can remember as just pretty much graduating high school. That was like a big thing for them. It's like graduate high school and get a good job. And of course, you know, get married, have a family and be self-sufficient. But their biggest expectation they had for us was make sure you graduated high school. And I believe they had that expectation because we came here to the United States. And that was like, you know, they just felt that graduating high school and getting that high school diploma meant that you were going to have a better life than they did in their country. The expectations I have for myself. I like the like. The second question you asked. I just want to I want to do something good with my life. You know, I want to just be I don't want to just do the minimum, you know? I want to educate myself. I want to get a good job, even though my parents already think, you know, like I already have a good job. I feel like I can do more and I want to do more. So I just, you know, I feel that the American dream means that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. You don't have to settle for pretty much for anything. If you want to become a doctor. You can't. If you want to become a lawyer, you can. So I'm not sure that I'll become either. But I just I want to. I just want to do something. Something positive.
text/plain
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56828/file/130974#t=77.25,240.28
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56828/file/130974/transcript/49473/annotation/7
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56828/file/130974#t=244.6,247.3
https://archive.empathyarchive.com/collections/1674/collection_resources/56828/file/130974/transcript/49473/annotation/8
Speaker 2: I feel that I had an experienced not too long ago with my daughter.
